Why I Choose to Work at Nova
Nova was appealing to me because it exemplifies how a school can deliver a great education to students by breaking away from the model that is often seen in traditional public schools. I was also excited to join a team that has created such a standard of excellence.
Hobbies/Interests
I enjoy trying new restaurants, reading, attending local sporting events, live music, traveling, and I also collect watches.
Favorite Author/Thinker/Historical Figure
My favorite authors are Hemingway and Malcolm Gladwell, but my favorite thinker is Marcus Aurelius. I try to revisit Meditations about once a year.
Favorite Books
Animal Farm (George Orwell), Fighting the Flying Circus: The Greatest True Air Adventure to Come out of World War I (Eddie Rickenbacker), Blind Man’s Bluff (Sherry Sontag), Courageous Leadership (Bill Hybels),
Favorite Work of Art
Wanderer above the Sea of Fog by Caspar David Friedrich and any of Michael Birawer’s paintings of Twin Cities landmarks.
Personal Motto/Favorite Quote
“Whenever you say ‘yes’ to something unimportant, you’re saying ‘no’ to something important.” – Joshua Fields Milburn
